Your Voice, Your Choice, Wednesday March 18

Your Voice, Your Choice: Parks & Streets is a participatory budgeting initiative in which Seattle residents democratically decide how to spend a portion of the City’s budget on small-scale park and street improvements. You can submit potential project ideas for small-scale park and street improvements through Wednesday March 18.

Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool

Seattle Parks and Recreation is soliciting public input for its next budget. The SAVE Evans Pool & Green Lake Community Center group is advocating for using Park District funds to maintain, repair, and replace community centers and pools (including the Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool). See Park District Planning for Park District Oversight Committee meetings and a public survey. Comments may also be sent to PDplanning@seattle.gov.

The income limit for seniors to qualify for a property tax reduction in King County has increased to $58,423 per year per household. Learn about the new housing tax exemption at a presentation at the Wallingford Community Senior Center. Advance registration appreciated.

Seattle Tree Ordinance, Wednesday February 12

Land Use and Neighborhoods Committee

The Land Use and Neighborhoods Committee of the Seattle City Council will meet to hear a Tree Protections Update from the Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI). The Coalition for a Stronger Tree Ordinance is concerned at the loss of tree canopy in Seattle and urges public comments at the Committee meeting or by contacting Council members.
